A. Karelia is a special region in northern Europe, located in the eastern part of Fennoscandia. It’s a beautiful area with lots of forests, lakes, and rivers. Today, most of Karelia is a part of Russia. A smaller part of Karelia belongs to Finland. The Russian side is called the Republic of Karelia. On the Finnish side, you’ll find two areas: North Karelia and South Karelia.
B. The winter climate is modified by warm, humid air masses from the west, but Arctic air causes cold periods. During February, the coldest month, temperatures average −10 °C in the south and −14 °C in the north. Summers are short with average temperatures of 16 °C in the south and 14 °C in the north.
C. In Karelia, you can find lots of tours where you can visit huskies, hug them and take a ride with them. You can book a trip in advance and get to the husky place. Snowmobile tours can also become a great adventure. One hour or two or maybe a day of a snow forest ride – it’s certainly the thing you will remember. Some tours can combine husky and snowmobile rides.
D. The Museum-Fortress Korela is located in Priozersk. The history of the fortress began in the 13th century. In the Livonian war, the Swedes captured the fortress. But in the Northern War, the Russian Empire got it back. The fortress served as a prison.
E. Karelian cuisine was formed under the influence of the neighbouring nations. In simple words it is a cross between Russian and Finnish cuisine. Karelian pies are open rye fresh dough pies with various fillings. You will probably see them in different places. But in fact, the birthplace of this baking is Karelia.

Now we are ready to start. Welcome to the sports centre «Sport for you». It is situated in Green Street not far from the park. It is open again from next week. There’s a gym, a swimming pool and some sports clubs. There are three football teams – one for girls and two for boys. There is a football competition every month both for boys and girls. You can also play tennis. There are also six tennis courts. They’re free from Monday to Friday, but it costs 200 roubles an hour to play tennis on Saturday and Sunday. Every year there are three tennis competitions. The next competition is in June. There is a large new swimming pool where we organise four swimming competitions every year. On weekdays the swimming pool is open from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. but it is closed at lunch time from 1 to 2 p.m. At weekends it is open all day. It is closed in summer. Система и критерии оценивания проверочной работы
Каждое из заданий 1–5 считается выполненным верно, если правильно указана последовательность цифр. В заданиях 1–5 участник получает 1 балл за каждое правильно установленное соответствие. В задании 6 участник получает 1 балл за каждое правильно преобразованное слово. Ответы на задание 6 считаются неверными, если грамматическая форма содержит орфографическую ошибку, но при этом допускается слитное написание составных (аналитических) грамматических форм. За успешное выполнение каждого из этих заданий выставляется максимально 5 баллов (по 1 баллу за каждый правильный ответ). Ответ на задание 7 оценивается в соответствии с критериями.
Инструкция по выполнению проверочной работы
На выполнение работы по английскому языку отводится 1 час 30 минут (90 минут), из них 5 минут предусмотрено на инструктаж и 5 минут – на перепроверку. Работа включает в себя 7 заданий. При выполнении работы не разрешается пользоваться учебниками, рабочими тетрадями, справочниками и словарями. Ответом к заданиям 1–5 является последовательность цифр. Сначала укажите ответы в тексте работы, а затем перенесите их в бланк ответов № 1 справа от номера соответствующего задания, начиная с первой клеточки, без пробелов, запятых и других дополнительных символов. Каждую цифру пишите в отдельной клеточке в соответствии с приведёнными в бланке образцами.
Ответы на задания 6 и 7 запишите в поля ответов в тексте работы. Если Вы хотите изменить ответ, то зачеркните его и запишите рядом новый. При необходимости можно пользоваться черновиком. Записи в черновике проверяться и оцениваться не будут. Советуем выполнять задания в том порядке, в котором они даны. Для экономии времени пропускайте задание, которое не удаётся выполнить сразу, и переходите к следующему. Если после выполнения всей работы у Вас останется время, то Вы сможете вернуться к пропущенным заданиям. Баллы, полученные Вами за выполненные задания, суммируются. Постарайтесь выполнить как можно больше заданий и набрать наибольшее количество баллов.
